The fields to the west of the Brook Lane footbridge have now been ploughed. There are a large flock of Skylarks to be seen here. If you follow the footpath that heads west from the perimeter fence of the Ferring Country Centre and follows a small stream, you will first hear them and then see them singing away in the sky. You will need to be about half way along this footpath as it heads towards East Preston.

They are ground nesting birds so you will see them dive down and disappear in the fields. They are very well camouflaged on the ground.
