Between Friday the 18th July and Sunday 10th August the national survey of butterflies is taking place.

This important work involving the public all over the UK is run by the Butterfly Conservation organisation. Sightings of different species and their numbers is clearly very important and Ferring Rife is a wonderful location to see them, especially in the fields to the west currently. I hope we can play our part in this work.

Any sightings can be submitted online and there is an app which can be added to a smart phone. It is free and easy to use.
